If you’re going to go social dancing in high-heel dance shoes, and you don’t normally wear heels, warm up or dance by yourself before you really start dancing. I have a fairly new pair 2.5″ Latin heels that I haven’t practiced in as much as I should. When I went to a salsa party on Valentine’s Day, my first dance was absolutely horrible. I felt very unstable in my 2.5″ Latin heels, my partner liked to lead fast spins, and I could barely generate any hip action.
Since then, I’ve been practicing more in those same shoes. I’m going to compete in them at the Dance of the Roses, so I had better get used to them fast. They’re already feeling much better than before.
